Splendid newly renovated hotel with heavenly star gazing activity.

We came back again because we simply love this hotel so much with its delicious dinner with free flow drinks and alcohol and adequate breakfast buffet . The best part of it all was the star gazing activity . This time we came back armed with tripod and the big camera . We were upgraded this time to a newly renovated triple huge room with a swing and a dining table . The toilet was amazing with a double sink and a lovely bathtub . Wifi was fast as usual . What is lovely about this hotel are the extra pillows provided that you pick up at reception , ice machines on all levels near the lifts , a free flow of cocoa , tea or coffee and soft drinks on the ground floor . These are the extra touches that made this hotel special . Onsens bath areas were I think newly renovated . The amenities in the indoor onsens were better than the outdoor onsen which was heavenly to bathe in looking out to the hills . You can try all sorts of products in the indoor onsen . Overall , a most wonderful stay again .

立ち寄り湯

宿泊はしていませんが、温泉を楽しみました。立ち寄り湯は露天風呂のみです。 少し歩きますが、景観が楽しめる場所にお風呂があり、また寝湯も居心地がいいように工夫された設計になっています。それで長い時間楽しむことができました。 シャンプーやボディーソープもあります。洗い場は屋内になるよう親切な設計でした。 ただこの地域の冬の時期には厳しいかなとおもいます。春秋シーズンがお勧めです。 一度泊まってみたいと思わせるような、よいお風呂でした。

Beautiful outdoor onsen , star gazing activity and delicious food

This hotel is the best hotel that we stayed in on this trip . The onsen has an outdoor onsen that is truly beautiful overlooking the hills and valley of mount Aso. You need to walk about 50 m from the hotel to reach there . We had twin beds in the newly refurbished wing and everything was clean and new . Wifi was good . Temperature control good . Bathroom was adequately big with good water pressure . There was water dispenser and ice dispenser as well near the lifts . What made the stay special was the star gazing activity at night . Although we did not understand Japanese , the guide had a cool laser light that he pointed at the sky to point out the stars . We loved this activity . Food wise - lots of variety and very refined . Loved the delicious dinner and breakfast . What was lovely was the free flow of alcohol , juices and soft drinks throughout dinner . Will definitely stay here again .

初めて阿蘇へ行く際、こちらの露天風呂が気になり行ってみました。 場所としては黒川温泉の方になります（黒川温泉の入湯手形にも入っています、しかし黒川温泉からは場所は離れています）。プールもあり、普通のプールでしたが、まわりは見渡すばかり高原、遠くにあか牛？が見えたり・・・素晴らしい景色です。ラウンジのドリンクはマシーンのものなのであまり美味しくはなかったです。普段はあまりやっていなかったビュッフェがこの時はやっていたので、子連れに助かりました（子供が喜びそうな仕掛けが色々ありました）。なんといってもこちらの露天風呂は想像以上の解放感でした！どの時間帯に入っても素敵でした。また、一番の思い出は夜の星空観察会でした。外でガイドさんの説明を聞きながら見た星空には本当に感動しました。このホテルに泊まってよかったです！

黒川温泉露天風呂と星空さんぽ

阿蘇や九重連山を見渡す高原の中のリゾートホテル。まだ梅雨明け前で通り雨にも遭いましたが、見渡す限り高原で時々放牧されてるあか牛の姿が。新館の1階に泊まりました。ツインベッドに畳敷のスペースがあり全面ガラス窓から山並みや高原、星空が見えます。カーテンを開けて星天を見ながら眠りました。地元の素材を使った夕食も朝のバイキングメニューも美味しくお腹いっぱい。お天気の良い日にはボックスに自分の好きなものを詰めて、高原でピクニックやブランコも。高原を見渡せる黒川温泉露天風呂では星空や朝日を見ながらゆったり。夜にはロビーに集合して星空さんぽへ。ガイドさんと一緒に夏の星座観察。澄み切った高原では街では見ることのできない星空が広がります。運が良ければUFOも見れるかも。
